Open Conversations for Open Relationships
Honest conversations. Shared experiences. Stronger connections.
What is Real Talk: Reconnected?
Some of the most meaningful conversations at KNetic don't happen on the dance floor. They happen when we sit down together and talk honestly about relationships, connection, and the realities of ethical non-monogamy.
Over the years, those conversations grew into something more. What began as casual chats and one-off discussion nights became a space where members could share experiences, ask questions, challenge assumptions, and learn from one another.
Now we're ready to reconnect again!
Real Talk: Reconnected brings our monthly conversation series back to KNetic Calgary South with a fresh season of open, thoughtful discussions about the real work behind open relationships.
We'll explore communication, trust, boundaries, agreements, jealousy, insecurity, emotional safety, relationship expectations, and the many ways we create healthy connections outside of traditional relationship scripts.
Each session has its own topic and guided conversation, giving us room to hear different perspectives and learn from the experiences around us. You don't need to be an expert, and you never have to share more than you're comfortable sharing. Listening is participating too.
Come to one session or join us throughout the season. Each conversation stands on its own, but together they create an opportunity to learn, reflect, grow, and reconnect with our community.
Whether you're part of the lifestyle community, a swinger, polyamorous, practicing another form of ethical non-monogamy, opening a relationship, or simply ENM-curious, there is a place for you in the conversation.
Everyone is welcome.
All genders, all sexualities, all relationship styles, all experience levels.
There is no charge for this KNetic Community Event. Please RSVP to hold your spot.
The KNetic Bar will be open. No outside food or beverages allowed.
Your Hosts
Neal & Roo
This season also marks a bit of a homecoming. After taking a year away from Real Talk, KNetic owner Neal is returning to the conversation and is ready to reconnect with the community, revisit some familiar topics, and explore where the conversation takes us next.
Joining Neal this season is Roo, one of our KNetic Hosts, bringing back his voice, perspective, and lived experience to the circle.
Together, Neal and Roo will guide each month's conversation while leaving plenty of room for the most important voices in Real Talk: yours.

Community, Care & Chosen Family
ENM doesn't happen in a vacuum.
Our romantic and sexual relationships may be an important part of our lives, but they aren't the only relationships that sustain us.
Friends. Metamours. Former partners. Community members. Mentors. People who show up when things get hard, celebrate with us when things are good, and remind us that belonging can take many different forms.
Sometimes, those people become something more:
Chosen family.
This month, Real Talk is expanding the conversation beyond partners and relationships to explore the networks of care that surround them.
What does it mean to intentionally build community? How do we create friendships and support systems outside of our romantic and sexual connections? What happens when the people who understand our relationships best aren't necessarily the people we grew up with?
For many people practicing ethical non-monogamy, traditional support systems don't always understand the relationships we've chosen. Some of us can talk openly with family, friends, or coworkers about our lives. Others may need to be selective about who knows, what we share, and where we can fully be ourselves.
That can make community incredibly powerful.
Being surrounded by people who understand that relationships can look different can give us somewhere to ask questions, learn from one another, celebrate our connections, find perspective when things get difficult, and simply exist without having to explain ourselves first.
But healthy community also asks something from us.
How do we show up for each other without trying to fix everything? How do we offer care while respecting our own capacity? How do we support someone through a breakup, conflict, jealousy, or relationship change without automatically choosing sides?
And how do we create spaces where people feel welcomed and valued while still respecting boundaries?
Because community does not mean unlimited access.
Belonging to the same community doesn't entitle us to someone's friendship, attention, emotional labour, relationships, affection, or body. Care and boundaries aren't opposites. In healthy communities, they work together.
We'll also explore the idea of chosen family itself.
Family doesn't always have to be defined by biology, marriage, or a traditional household. Sometimes family is built deliberately through trust, consistency, mutual care, shared experiences, and the people who continue choosing to show up for one another.
And those relationships can be every bit as meaningful as romantic ones.
This conversation is about looking beyond who we date or sleep with and asking a bigger question: Who are the people we're building our lives with?
Because strong relationships matter.
And so does having a community around them.
