Open Conversations for Open Relationships
Honest conversations. Shared experiences. Stronger connections.
What is Real Talk: Reconnected?
Some of the most meaningful conversations at KNetic don't happen on the dance floor. They happen when we sit down together and talk honestly about relationships, connection, and the realities of ethical non-monogamy.
Over the years, those conversations grew into something more. What began as casual chats and one-off discussion nights became a space where members could share experiences, ask questions, challenge assumptions, and learn from one another.
Now we're ready to reconnect again!
Real Talk: Reconnected brings our monthly conversation series back to KNetic Calgary South with a fresh season of open, thoughtful discussions about the real work behind open relationships.
We'll explore communication, trust, boundaries, agreements, jealousy, insecurity, emotional safety, relationship expectations, and the many ways we create healthy connections outside of traditional relationship scripts.
Each session has its own topic and guided conversation, giving us room to hear different perspectives and learn from the experiences around us. You don't need to be an expert, and you never have to share more than you're comfortable sharing. Listening is participating too.
Come to one session or join us throughout the season. Each conversation stands on its own, but together they create an opportunity to learn, reflect, grow, and reconnect with our community.
Whether you're part of the lifestyle community, a swinger, polyamorous, practicing another form of ethical non-monogamy, opening a relationship, or simply ENM-curious, there is a place for you in the conversation.
Everyone is welcome.
All genders, all sexualities, all relationship styles, all experience levels.
There is no charge for this KNetic Community Event. Please RSVP to hold your spot.
The KNetic Bar will be open. No outside food or beverages allowed.
Your Hosts
Neal & Roo
This season also marks a bit of a homecoming. After taking a year away from Real Talk, KNetic owner Neal is returning to the conversation and is ready to reconnect with the community, revisit some familiar topics, and explore where the conversation takes us next.
Joining Neal this season is Roo, one of our KNetic Hosts, bringing back his voice, perspective, and lived experience to the circle.
Together, Neal and Roo will guide each month's conversation while leaving plenty of room for the most important voices in Real Talk: yours.

Jealousy & Insecurity:
When Big Feelings Come Up
Jealousy happens.
It can happen when you're brand new to ethical non-monogamy. It can happen after years of experience. It can show up unexpectedly, even when you genuinely support your partner's other connections and believe deeply in the relationship style you've chosen.
Feeling jealous doesn't mean you've failed at ENM.
This month, we're making room for the big feelings that can sometimes be difficult to admit out loud: jealousy, insecurity, fear, comparison, uncertainty, and the worry that somehow we aren't enough.
Instead of treating jealousy as something we need to eliminate, we'll get curious about it.
What is the feeling actually telling us? Is there a need underneath it? Are we afraid of losing connection, attention, security, or belonging? Are we comparing ourselves to someone else? Has trust been affected? Or are we reacting to an old fear that has very little to do with what's happening right now?
We'll also talk about the difference between having a feeling and acting from that feeling. Jealousy may be real and valid as an emotional experience, but that doesn't automatically mean another person needs to change their behaviour to make the feeling disappear.
So what can we do with it?
How do we ask for reassurance without reaching for control? How do we support a partner who's struggling without taking responsibility for every emotion they're experiencing? How can we communicate what we need while still respecting everyone's autonomy?
And perhaps most importantly, how do we stay connected to ourselves and the people we care about while discomfort is still present?
This conversation isn't about becoming people who never feel jealous.
It's about learning to understand our big feelings, respond to them with compassion and curiosity, and decide what we want to do next.
